CPQ is likely to show a larger unit increase than normal due to the fact that they were selling <$ 1000 PC's during last quarter. This is a new category of consumer PC. DELL does not sell these PC's.

A better measure of the performance of the two companies is the revenue gains. CPQ had a 25.2 % gain year over year. DELL will
probably come in with a 63.2 % gain year over year.

Thus CPQ(26) is trading near its revenue growth rate of 25.2 % and DELL(47/37) is clearly trading at well under its revenue growth rate of 63.2%.

This is what the difference in the companies PE's is caused by.

Hope this clears up some of the confusion....
