As I read the article you point to, the "winner" is thin clients coupled to servers. (Actually, I think the jury's still out.)

An aside --
200 MHz Pentium processors are going for about $500 +/-, so it would seem to me it will be difficult to hit the $300-800 price point cited by that article unless Intel dramatically cuts prices.
