Janice, sorry to hear about the flu. Too bad about not having access to cranberries. Here is a good flu remedy using cranberries. gunther.simplenet.com Suspect you could approximate the same result with grappa and a few drops of cranberry juice. In fact the grappa is likely a fine substitute in any event. :^)
