Ha ha, My wife and I used that advice a few years back. We were in the mountains of new mexico in a very thick snow fall so we followed the plow, until he turned into the snowplow garage. The road had been closed hours before. It turned out okay, we camped in the parking lot for a week as the only turists in a national park.
