I have wild caught canned salmon in my pantry for earthquakes and other disasters... I just checked and they are years past "best by" date. I wonder how long you can safely go past those dates?

If I want a low carb, low mercury lunch, I mix the salmon with pickle relish and a bit of olive oil mayo and wrap in lettuce leaves... or low net carb tortillas.

I've been cycling through some of my canned sardines too to move out the expiration date. These go on sale often at Costco so not hard to do.

I wonder how people who stock up 6 months of food at great cost cycle through it eating MREs for months every few years....
