Ever since I could vote, I have respected 'the will of the majority' even though I might have been disappointed with the outcome of the election. I enjoy with open mind the positive energy and balance of ideas that our democracy generates. I've often been positively surprised by Presidencies I didn't vote for; and in the case of GWB extraordinarily disappointed by one I did vote for (the first time).

I always felt it fair to give a new officeholder a year or two to get a sense of the overall direction, tone, and priorities they wish to project, and time before evaluating their managerial performance. Who knows, O may surprise you. And he may very well disappoint me.

No politician does everything right or everything wrong. Life is too short to argue every last point, especially on this internet chat board.

Good night and best wishes ...
