This thread is first and foremost dedicated to those followers of the Microcap Kitchen. The best group of human beings it has been my pleasure to know. It is my view that we are one big family...and families can agree, or not agree, on any number of issues. It just turns out that from time to time political discussions make their way onto what is truly a dedicated microcap stock forum. So instead of interupting that important discussion I am bringing the political fray over here. For Kitchen members and anyone else who cares to stop in. This is an open forum. If you are not familiar with the Microcap Kitchen it is the MOST civilized, courteous, helpful thread on the internet...kind of like the Hobbitts before Gandalf showed up to give them the bad news. It is my intent this thread follow, to the degree possible since we are discussing different issues, that same down home 'how are you' 'nice to meet you' tone. That may not be easy since the topic is 'Fair and Balanced-'Duties of a Democracy'. Kind of like asking a half starved wild dog to eat only part of the rib roast he (or she) happened upon. But we will try. I think the times demand a thoughtful and discering discussion of where the USA is going and why. I will state right now that I voted for President Bush twice...the first election was questionable re the final outcome (but that is what the SUPREME COURT is for) and the second he won outright. I also believe we are involved in a war as important as any this country has ever been in...the ramifications of which will last perhaps for decades. That said as people who know me understand I am willing to listen to any reasonable argument that involves this war...and the many threads resulting from it that affect the Constitution of the United States....and therefore us and our children. RULES: No abuse will be tolerated. You have all been on the internet long enough to know what abusive behavior is....keep it civil. You will get one warning if you cross the line...then you are gone. That is the only rule i want here. Voice your views....take on a dissenting view...just keep it a bit like Mayberry....pretend we are all on Aunt Bee's porch. I am convinced that we can share viewpoints, disagree, even withh some heat...and keep it civil. That said and done the topic is -Fair and Balanced-The Duties Of a Democracy. And the question is...what are the duties of a Democracy post 9-11? | ||||||||||||
