This is purlely a thought of mine and would like some input - many of the unix vendors who have gone NT - i.e (DEC, Tandem, and HP) are in financial trouble and having their lunches eaten in the unix marketplace - I put in HP because i believe that they went to a mixture of NT and Unix as a defensive measure (and shortsighted) and because SUN has put so much pressure on them lately. Don't these guys understand that the only winners are MSFT, INTEL and the made to manufacture low end box makers like DELL and Compaq who have no infrastructure because they never supported anything beyond a commodity? I feel that these above mentioned companies (DEC, Tandem) will elevate Sun since they wont be in business much longer.
