Gary,
The short answer to your question is yes. jheather is indeed a new member who joined at the time of posting reply #1325. Also, it can be readily deduced that jheather is a front for Perry Heatherington, C.O.O. of Emerald Fields Resource Corp. ("EFR") and co-signatory of the joint EFR/Bikita "Press Release" posted. It can also be deduced that the purpose of the release, and its posting on S.I.,is to confuse the investing public and cause concern among Avalon's shareholders. Here's why:

The timing of the posting (7:23 pm on April 20) is particularly revealing, coming just a few hours after an oral presentation on the Big Whopper I made that afternoon in the Kenora area, which was attended by Mr. Heatherington. In my presentation, I mentioned the tiny size of EFR's so-called "Big Mack" petalite deposit (in comparison to the Big Whopper) and suggested that this deposit is of no real economic significance. I guess I must have struck a sensitive nerve to provoke such an immediate reaction!

You will note that their press release makes no disclosure on ore reserves, information they would evidently prefer not to reveal. Now you know why. However, public disclosure of size is available in the recent OGS Open File Report #6000, dated December, 1999, by F.W. Breaks, A.G. Tindle and S.R. Smith, who report that the "Big Mack" contains a meagre 300,000 tonnes of "potential ore" grading 30.5% petalite. Having been involved in the supervision of the drilling program that delineated this resource, we can confirm that this represents a maximum size as the petalite mineralization pinches off at a depth of just 65m. Our research shows that this resource is simply not big enough to be of real economic significance and no credible mining company or mining financier would be interested in financing the development of such a tiny deposit on a stand-alone basis. Furthermore, without an economic deposit, having an agreement in place to market the mineral products is utterly meaningless.

So, what motivated this announcement? Why would two private companies bother to publicly disclose a private marketing agreement anyway? Could it be merely a publicity stunt to confuse the public and our shareholders and disparage our project? If not, why post it on the Avalon thread on S.I.? I wonder what CDNX Market Surveillance might conclude...

In any event, the fact is that there is only one economic petalite deposit defined to date in the Separation Rapids area: the giant (11.6 million tonnes) Big Whopper Pegmatite, 100% owned by Avalon Ventures Ltd. Clearly, it is coveted by our competitors, which I guess confirms what we have been telling our shareholders all along; that the Big Whopper petalite pegmatite is the finest such deposit ever found anywhere in the world and a far more valuable asset than the market has yet figured out!
