AVALON VENTURES LTD. (AVL:CDNX) is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company, with a focus on the Metals of the Future. These include the rare metals lithium, tantalum, cesium and rubidium, which are in increasing demand for their many high-technology industrial applications.

Avalon now controls four high-potential rare metals projects in northwestern Ontario and southern Manitoba, along with four other early stage platinum-palladium and gold prospects. The most advanced of these is the Separation Rapids rare metals project near Kenora, Ontario, where Avalon is developing the world-class Big Whopper pegmatite. This deposit is now in the feasibility stage and shows excellent potential for becoming a low-cost, highly profitable producer of lithium minerals (petalite), feldspars, mica and tantalum.

Advancing the Big Whopper to commercial production will be the Company s top priority through the year 2000, while it continues to explore for new rare metals deposits enriched in tantalum and cesium. Avalon s mission is to become a major supplier of the strategic raw materials for the high-tech industries of the new millenium.
