I saw a special NBC News program about how the U.S. had many chances to oust/kill Saddam Hussein and did not. Anyone else see it? Perhaps, the saying "keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer" has some meaning here. Saddam Hussein has been a way for the American Government to divert attention from other things. After Operation Desert Storm, Saddam is easy pickings and a good source of "election points" to impress U.S. citizens. In fact, this last brush with war also had the effect of diverting attention away from these scandals that the President is involved in. The big story was Saddam, and not Paula Jones at the time.
