Jesse, What QDeck really should do is concentrate on the interconnectivity issue. The first company with a real open architecture and true interconnectivity may just get adopted as a standard. If someone gets a patent or at least some sort of intellectual property rights for such a system, they will be sitting pretty. In the near future I believe that all applications around today, using proprietary systems will go the way of the "DODO" bird. We really need a system in which everyone can converse regardless of what flavor software you choose! The very presence of a coalition headed by such companies as Intel, Microsoft, and Netscape (plus about 70 other concerned companies), set up specifically to establish a VON standard, definitely point in this direction!
