The simple answer is often correct, the virus has mutated into something similar to the flu and we can return to normal.

To far too many, it doesn't make a lot of sense unless it is a political organization bent on removing the last president and keeping the current one in office. It is sad we even have to think this way.

IF the COVID-19 originated in Wuhan China and the Chinese know more about it than they let on, then their actions to do total shutdowns and not use or copy our mRNA technology speaks loudly.

Of course the scientific argument will be that the virus has mutated as one would expect... one that doesn't kill its host but spreads quickly from one that killed its host with symptoms so bad we knew to isolate them.

Much like Ebola kills the host so quickly that isolation is still the best way to handle outbreaks... it doesn't survive in enough new hosts to mutate much.
