You did not make your point and you are using the old trick of lying with statistics.

And I never said I was upset with freeloaders.

My point was there is a HUGE incentive here to not make more money legally that gets reported and taxed.

IF you want less of something, such as fewer smokers, then tax the activity.

Also, the very wealthy here pay the vast majority of taxes collected. To average what a dishwasher pays in taxes to what Steph Curry or all the tech CEOs and founders who live here pay in taxes is plain ignorance.

Back to freeloaders, most of us in CA are freeloading off the very wealthy.

According to the Legislative Analyst’s Office, half of the state’s personal income tax revenue comes from those making $500,000 or more. Conversely, households making $50,000 or less make up nearly 60 percent of tax filings but make up just 2 percent of revenue.
