Pop, control and the myths that are put out about it are pure bunk.
Paul Erlich's doom and gloom predictions of the 70's about a great famine was and is a farce. Noted economist Julian Simon bet Erlich 1000 bucks that 10 natural mineral chosen by Erlich would be more abundant and cheaper in price in ten years from the date the bet was made(I think in the late 70's or early 80's). Well, After ten years every mineral Erlich picked was in deed more abundant and cheaper in price, showing that with tech. igenuity, people can support themselves and not go the way Erlich thought we would.
