The condition in sports has been around forever... I don't recall the first time I heard about it but the antivaxers saying the vaccine caused it is probably worse science than the Global Warming zealots saying melting ice here or there is proof of man caused climate change rather than increasing solar output from the sun.

I am sure taking the vaccine has SOME side effects that when measured with billions of doses, a few will be tragic. Are there more tragic deaths from vaccine side effects compared to excess deaths from getting COVID? I have several/many friends and family members who tested positive for COVID after having some of the shots who had one or more comorbidities and they had "mild symptoms" similar to colds to mild flues... When COVID first came out, the odds of getting very sick as well as dying were much higher with those same comorbidities. It is crap science for me to say "the vaccine worked" from such a small sample size (dozens?) but it sure appears that it did work for these people.

The calculus that one needs to do is does taking the vaccine increase or decrease your odds of both a healthy life and a longer, healthy life? You're a math guy so you should understand it is a merger of two or more normal distributions where the long tails are tragic death... Lets hope we can have a decent, scientific gathering and reporting of the data without everyone's politics mucking up the data and interpretation.
