Hi,
I can answer your question very simply.
I wish that I had had the wisdom to invest all/any of my available cash in the market either on 1/1/88 or at the either of the $5 points with Mr. L's hypothetical stock. The time that has elapsed from then to the present was unparalleled in history. So has the period from 4/14/00 been unparalleled in the history of the NASDAQ. It is so easy to prove anything with numbers that have occurred in the past. It doesn't take more than about 1 hour on CNBC to hear two experts, looking at the same numbers, come up with diametrically opposed theories as to what is going to happen in the future. The truth however is totally unknown. Unfortunately we have to wait for that. Since I don't know what is going to happen in the future, It is my opinion that the best advice to give anyone is AIM BTB which has worked very well over all kinds of market conditions.
Mr. L described AIM's sole purpose as, and I repeat myself today. SAFETY---PRESERVATION OF CAPITAL---PLUS HIGH PERFORMANCE in a single program. He did not say highest performance. It was his opinion as it is mine that any attempt to improve performance at the cost of safety or preservation of capital is unacceptable.
By the way, no offense was taken at either of your previous posts. I consider this a healthy discussion over a difference of opinion.
Bernie
