Oh Great Llama: Yes, occassionally I will dive into a stock>$1. To mention that I bought MCI at $.50 in 1974-75 would be gloating so I won't bring it up. Just thought you might have some fun with this one. Just prior to major market crashes, things like this come up. Sometimes they do well, sometimes it's $$$ down the drain. Now then, you want income dividends?.....Tejas Gas prf. (oh, hell, there I go talking about earth resources again. Gas pipeline companies are the new answer to utility stocks, as regards income. I firmly believe this will continue and grow. My parents live off of them.
I have noi doubt you are correct about Chile. Morals?...don't even bring them up. I consider Friedman a god, and if Pinchet was smart enough to hire him, it justifies his coup. Remember, after most commununist revolutions are all over, the only thing left on paper are some songs and poems about "passion". If you are interested in results (ie, general betterment of the population's living standards), I'll go with the Chicago school anyday. Please share more about your research into Chilean market. I'm intrigued. -Grasshopper
