I've just returned from 3 weeks travel in Vietnam.

I observed that there are A LOT of businessmen in the country looking at opportunities......I noticed very few Americans, still. But, a lot of Japanese, Chinese, Koreans...

Hotel rooms in HCM City & Hanoi have quadrupled in $$ over the last 5-6 years.

Government corruption, and the gap between the very rich (gov't officials) and the rest gets wider every time we visit. Officials are getting a big cut of business deals, and (I suspect) loans and grants for public projects from entities like the World Bank & UNESCO. I worry the country will be burdened by a huge debt load, when so much of that money went into the pockets of individuals. There is no "social" in that socialist country.
