Hi Brian -- I too own Mackie stock, having bought in around 7 1/2 with further purchases down to 6 1/4. I also own a Mackie mixer, which I bought after talking to dozens of audio engineers who were unanimous in recommending the Mackie 1604vlz for home project work. You probably know by now that it was some huge institutional selloff on the day the volume peaked. I'm standing by the stock for now though because 1) They make arguably the best boards in the biz 2) their following among engineers and the audio prone is very strong -- mackie has brand equity analogous to Fender and Gibson in the guitar world 3) I'm betting that their name recognition is strong enough to carry an expanded product line 4) Slicker ads and bigger ad budgets from competitors like Yamaha or Peavey cannot create the reputation Mackie has already earned. I'm sticking with them as long as I can afford to.
