The only GM vehicle I've ever owned was a 1994 Corvette.
If INTC...made computer chips like GM makes cars....your computer would crap out by the end of the second year of ownership.
I only sold it because my girlfriend didn't like not being able to see over the hood and her mother wouldn't let me drive their car (2001 Lexus) to take them to dinner any more, even though I was paying for repairs.

17 yrs and 60,000+ miles and it had very few troubles. I'd love to buy a new one if I had the storage for three cars and didn't have to pay property taxes and registration on a car I'd hardly have time to drive.

How do Volvo's hold up in your area? What sort of trucks do trades people drive in far Northern Europe? Do they last any longer in even harsher winters?

I heard Gillette could make razor last far longer. On HBO's TrueBlood last night, the Asian businessman doesn't want to release the cure for the Vampire killing disease until he can change it from a one time use to a recurring purchase so he can get rich like Gillette. If a warranty is 4 yrs, my guess is the average car has to be designed to last 12 yrs or so to keep warranty costs under 3%..... which I believe is about the average age of the US car fleet... I'd have to do the math to be sure, but you get the idea.
