I think the day is coming when we'll be able to build a virus with rather specific properties to order and to me, that's one of the most exciting possibilities. Human created bacteria are probably already feasible, but I'm more interested in virii since they can get inside the cell and accomplish a task. The only problem is learning how to program them. In theory, we should be able to do extensive somatic cell surgery using virii. It's just a biological nanomachine after all.... Thanks, Torben P.S.
