Curious enough, when I came back to New Jersey after working in Long Island for a while one of my job offers was from Wrights, as the locals call it. I don't recall why I chose Singer. I think it was a combo of the offer and the fact that Singer Kearfott had me going into the high precision Electronics stuff and I think C-W had me on for the Machine Shop. All in all I was very happy to take over Telecom but the new owners did not make it a pleasant environ so although I got a lot of condolences upon leaving I may have been the happiest person I knew. Smart people in that world, though. Generally the best ones really love their work.I'm sure your father was very happy there. Gee, to think I used to be able to recite specs for a GE Gatling Gun and now all I think about is projecting when a Line on a computer monitor is likely to turn. It's certainly hard to believe that I get paid more for playing guessing games.
