Our cockatiel rides on Levi's back.....

As pups they will get along with any other animal....

even as adults they are not prone to aggression....

one night Levi brought a "dead" opossum into the mud room....

Kelsey screamed....

we just sat and waited till it woke up and walked out the door....

Levi was a bit perplexed....he didn't even bother to follow...

I've not noticed a difference in overall behavior between male/female. Either will be fine. Males do grow larger.
