Thanks for your post. I hadn't heard about the sony battery -- do you know its ratings whr/l or whr/kg?

BTW here are a couple more companies (I think their ventures are private though) --

Hyrdroquebeq/3M joint venture
Powerdex -- Gould Venture

I am going to try and bring in some others from the battery management company threads -- maybe they have some good info.
