Well, I think its more than semantics. My opinion can be highly relevant and still not "prevail". My opinion in such a matter is something I would hope "my" wife would certainly consider and give some weight. I would certainly defer to her final decision but my opinion is something to be considered and weighed. It is far from irrelevant. As a practical matter Pezz, in 15 years of marriage I don't ever remember winning an argument with my wife, a point I find myself repeatedly making with my 13 year old son as he tests his limits with his mom. <gg> However, she always listens to my viewpoint and I have successfully persuaded her to change her mind on occasion. Perhaps she's only providing me with procedural due process and not the substantive variety, but at least she listens and does account for my opinion, whether she might feel its relevant or not. Starting from the premise that your spouse's opinion is irrelevant is corrosive and harmful to that relationship. Mutual respect for the other's feelings is what I mean. Based upon her posts, I'd opine that respect for the feelings of others is something in which Looney could use a lesson or two. JLA
