Tom,

Don't worry about InGaP heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs)
becoming so widely used that they actually make a dent in the
silicon market and hurt MEMC.

HBTs are only used for high-frequency applications where silicon
cannot do the job and they HAVE to resort to a much more expensive
technology. Plus, they are not particularly low power, so if you made
a Pentium out of them, it would melt. :) There are a multitude of
processing issues, too, which assure silicon dominance for a very
long time.

The only reasonable thing to worry about is SOI technology (silicon
on insulator). I don't know if MEMC makes SOI wafers. . .But, even
if they do not, the market is tiny now.
