CTC, Yes I was once a mathematician.... against my better judgement....

Well I like you am skeptical of TA in general. I think Sap is declining due to weakness in enterprise software. No big mystery there, and imo the only reason Sap has held up this long is the euro religion influence. Add russia to the mix and well, dang it looks like Sap isnt going to sell as much software.

Having said that, there is a technical phenomena regarding the shift from euro acct practices to Gaap or Sop (whatever) that will hit Sap this qtr. The first obvious issue here is that we dont really know what kind of licenses we are going to see, or for that matter what we had in the past. With the Sap architecture, we know consulting/services is a huge part of their biz but how much? Then, in addition to that there is another possible problem in that the transition of some types of revenue under the euro std to the new gaap rules could result in a temporary decline in the numbers. If this is the case then it must be handled correctly in the CC. That in itself is an issue if you have ever seen Sap mgmt on cnbc or other media - they dont seem to know what to say to US biz media.

OK enough about Sap, this is the psft thread.
