Pilbara Mines soars on copper-zinc intercepts

Plibara Mines’ (PIL) share price jumped 130% on opening today, after announcing the discovery of copper-zinc massive sulphide mineralisation 260km north of Kalgoorlie.

Assay results revealed copper and zinc percentages respectively ranging from 1.47% to 13.5% and 9.2% to 21.2%, mineralisation was not discovered until a depth of 485m.

The company said: “Whilst this is a very encouraging discovery of high tenor base metal massive sulphides, further drilling is now required to determine the extent of the mineralisation.

Pilbara holds a 100% interest in the joint venture, Inmet Mining Pty Ltd is earning a 70% interest and is the manager of the project.

At 1017 AEST Pilbara Mines was trading up 20c or 91% at 42c
