That was a nice gesture, Karen. I think that the Republicans across the country are really shocked that all three branches of our Government were won by Republicans....One surely wouldn't have suspected it if we just listened to the media.

Two things that probably has helped everyone, on any side of an issue are, IMO:
--Talk radio...I understand from The Captain here that Rush has over 30 million listeners a day there. I don't often listen, as I like a softer style myself.

However, he was on NBC with Tim Russert last night, and was excellent, I thought. Also thought it was extremely interesting that NBC had him on!

and
--The Internet. Places like SI and many others can actually reach more people than any other format...it can be (not always is, as we know) a place where people can, and hopefully do, think about the position of others, as well as what they think their own position is.....And adjust it as more information is received.

I personally think all the 'reasons why' it happened are somewhat valid....but IMO again....I believe that the total incivility and attempts of trashing this Administration and President Bush didn't escape most Americans.

Most are smart enough to know that times are very difficult, very difficult indeed. Obstructionism doesn't work....unless it is explained carefully why bills, appointments, and many other things are just collecting dust on some desks in DC...
