Both are technical indicators and I would use both in making may decision not making one more important than the other. If it were a longer term double top, say 1-3 months, I would look more closely at the reason the stock couldn't break out to a new high and then trade it longer term. However, with short term trading these indicators break down quickly like they did today and that's why you need to be very disciplined in getting out of your current position if the stock moves the other way and breaks through your predetermined resistence or support level and then adjust to the trend.

My point being is that you have to have your own set of rules that keep you from getting emotional and at the end of the week you see how it's going and if your not doing well you need to modify your rules. For instance, any time the stock moves 2 points in my favor on a given day I take profits.
