I met the person in charge of consumer fraud in my state and I lamented about how sad it is that people prey on seniors with scams. His reply was enlightening. "I don't think people suddenly become stupid when they reach 65, these are the same people that have been taken advantage of their whole lives and now that they are 65 people are sympathetic to their plight." "I certainly don't think I will suddenly become stupid when I am 65"
So there you have it.
