JEF, I had a lot of interuptions while listening to Chambers but I think it is worthwhile listening if you wish to sharpen your focus on the big picture when it comes to the network and how it will affect commerce going forward. Chambers is a very effective speaker, I can see why WS loves the guy, he's got that CEO "look" in spades too!

I like the semis here too, go to the tech stock options thread and surf around they've got some good insight in that sector (also Ideas thread), Judy, OJ, Kevin, Nemer, Ike, lisa, whole bunch of knowledgable posters. I bot CPQ for my boxmaker stock. I'm looking at QCOM right now since I recently sold one of my telecoms (Not LU!)

I profited from most of my RACE holdings and I still have a very small recent position, underwater. Net/net still profitable. I really do wish them well, though, I think BT is a great concept and believe if and when they get the marketing act together(read:leave it to the pros, don't try this at home children) they may very well carve out an interesting niche market which could turn them around. In a perverse sort of way, I think the current short interest is keeping the stock at current levels, (I could be wrong though, Drakes says he's going short at 5 1/2), but you gotta think when she hits the 4 level, some short covering comes into play....Inacom was a distribution agreement and I reasoned that Inacom wouldn't give RACE the time of day unless they did some market research and determined there was money to be made. According to what we've been able to ferret out (thanks to Serafino) Data General has made some sales, and most of the deals weren't closed until after the 3rd quarter. But no ones' exactly beating a path to the door. So there's still a glimmer of hope for DR, and that is only that DR may be able to build on the resellers sales and hopefully BT will start getting more than technical rave reviews....
