a burly man who has emigrated from greece and now owns and operates a
deli in san francisco walks down the street to an chinese restaurant in
chinatown, sits down at the counter, and waits to place his order.
an asian gentleman comes over to him and asks for his order. the greek
chap says he wants fried rice, whereupon the waiter repeats the order to
him..."flied lice".the greek corrects him, "no, frrried rrrice!'the waiter
says nothing and brings him his order.
the next day the greek goes down to the same restaurant and orders
again fried rice from the same waiter. the asian waiter again repeats
the order back to the greek, "yes, flied lice". no, shouts the greek,
"frried rrrice!"again the waiter says nothing and retrieves the order and
brings it to the greek gentleman.
the third day the greek fellow goes to the chinese restaurant and
waits to place his order.once again the same asian waiter is there and he
comes over to the greek gentleman and waits for what he knows is now coming...
the greek chap says "i will have the usual fried rice" and once again
the asian waiter repeats the order incorrectly, whereupon the greek says
to the waiter "repeat after me frried rrrice." the waiter stutters but
manages to sound it out for the greek...."ffffrrrrriiiiiid rrrrriiiice,
you gleek plick."
