Dave, imho, regardless of crooks, insiders, touts, market makers, etc., the first rule is to realize no matter how much dd is done, the little guy, namely me, knows nothing compared to people close to the company.
A little mantra: No matter how much I think I know about a company, I don't know squat compared to the people who really know, or the people who are screwing with it.
At least I always feel better when I say it. Saves me all that dd time too.
A little mantra: What the company does or is has nothing to do with the money moving the stock price. That is done by people and their perceptions of the company or their perception of how they can make money manipulating the stock price.
Man do I feel better after I repeat that. lol
I'm definitely no guru, but the answer to the question of why did so many mutual funds lose money last year is simple, many of them own "the market". Monkey see monkey do. They also naturally work against themselves. Stock is taking off to the moon, wait, it has become more than 5% or the fund, got to sell some. Duh
An individual that can't beat "the market" needs to read a few books on money management. |
