Thank you, for putting into words the internal struggles that myself and my peers endured in that devisive faroff time. For my part I went the college route, but ran out of time/money/luck by the first lottery. It changed my life.

I don't reget becoming a part of the military in hindsight, though I begrudged it mightily those first several years. However at the tailend of the war years I switched over to Reserves and made a career of it. In November of 1992 I hit another struggle point.

I'm proud to say that I hung up the uniform, in part, at that time, to get the signature of a man whom I respected on my retirement certificate instead of the one who was to follow. Character is important, at least to me.
