I've been retired for 20 years (since age 50) and could take the other side of that argument. No commuting expenses, no business clothes, no business entertaining, etc. I take one generic drug which costs $40 per year at Walmart and I've made managing my health a priority (i.e. healthy foods, exercise, etc).
