Yes, Germany CEF discounts are high but Germany Fund (NYSE:GER) performance for instance has been pretty flat (in terms of capital appreciation). OTOH, I think it is yielding 9-10% in dividends at this time.

There was a very good CEF article via Dow Jones which specifically recommended going for a fund with ability to invest across a region/continent as portfolio mgr. sees fit, as opposed to just one country such as Germany. I think Central Euro Equity Fund is a step in that direction, or perhaps even a European fund. European Warrant AFAIK has performed well and is at a 22% discount.

Clearly, there are many good buys out there.
