Show me 25 or 30 years of that surprise index vs S&P500 and I'll comment. Until then, it seems more like ZH datamining for bearish news and I'll trust the WLI charts I put up as those indicators seem to have worked well for me.... just don't rely on them for EXACT numbers like an actual recession when the government allows printing $1T to buy government bonds so they can keep spending and avoid an official recession.
