Action Products International Brings Hi-Tech Building Toy to American Markets
ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Action Products International, Inc. (NASDAQ:APII) today reported that it has signed a Letter of Intent with UK-based Logiblocs Ltd. to attain exclusive American distribution rights for Logiblocs(TM) electronic building systems. Action recently showcased Logiblocs(TM), along with the rest of its growing portfolio of brands, at the American International Toy Fair in New York. There, interest in the line from press, educators, and customers met and exceeded Management's initial expectations. Logiblocs(TM) will retail in specialty outlets known for quality educational toys, as well as Internet retailers who like the expandability and explanatory aspects of the innovative new line from Europe. Sets should be available at retail in the First Quarter 1999 and will range in price from $19.99 to $69.99.
"The current trend in the toy market is toward interactive, technologically advanced toys that show innovation, promote education, and foster creativity. Logiblocs(TM) are a perfect example." President Ronald Kaplan continued, "Logiblocs(TM) are well-conceived high-tech educational toys that teach children about both logic and electronics, with great kid-appeal."
Logiblocs(TM) include battery-powered interactive building blocks that allow children to build their own automated inventions. They are packaged and sold in kits that vary in size, function, and difficulty level. Inside of each block is an electronic circuit board that gives it its own special function. Kits contain interchangeable blocks that can be assembled to make everything from buzzers, alarms and light sensitive switches to more involved kits like an electric city or spaceship.
"Because the kits range in difficulty from basic to challenging and are completely interchangeable, Logiblocs is a product that grows with the child." Kaplan continued, "After the child has mastered the suggested configurations, they can apply what they have learned to creating their own inventions. Every kid enjoys the sense of accomplishment that comes with building something on their own. I have every confidence that Logiblocs(TM) is a real winner."
