Jim, Happy New Year.

<<MM's to short and buy back at lower price>> VTPI has been an MM game, IMO the best we can hope for in the short term is to play with them, buy some trading position stock low and sell it when it stalls at the high. Make sure to hold some long term position just in case we get significant news such as actual sales.

<<Can we assume that most buyers in that period are serious holders looking for more than a few cents in profits??>> IMO no.

I'm in 100% agreement with Doug that it will take sales and/or the potential for sales (strategic partnering, not military contractors, but rather a telecommunication company like AT&T, MCI, or a large software house like Microsoft. An internet outfit like AOL may be a future candidate as they look to diversify.

IMO the situation to look out for is a product that is a great story, but can't be funded to success. Check out TFRY for that form of good idea, perpetual sales at any time mode, but no money, marketing, or sales.
