TBG: Yep! Blue lasers. They aren't just pointy lights are they, they have to be coherent too? I see that I said I'd be back in a couple of weeks, with a report, but I haven't actually left yet - definitely forgetful. Proudly procrastinating. I got sidetracked over to hydrogen/oxygen fuel cells.

The current crunch? I reckon it is just a tidying up of people with excessive debt. From the number of complaints about margin calls from various threads, it looks as though there were plenty of people who adopted as a law of nature that markets in general and their stocks in particular would go up forever, so they borrowed too much.

Some people blamed employment figures and some blamed Motorola's drop. While such events might be triggers, it was all set to happen anyway.
