BOSTON, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Keane, Inc. (AMEX: KEA), a leading software services firm and provider of year 2000 compliance solutions, has been awarded a year 2000 compliance contract by First Citizens Bank (Nasdaq: FCNCA), based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The agreement is Keane's 250th year 2000 contract to date. The new contract is a continuation of Keane's previous year 2000 work with First Citizens. Under the new contract, Keane will provide continued direction and support for the third and final phase of the project, which includes plan implementation, code remediation and testing of the bank's 1400 impacted mainframe programs. Keane's Raleigh-based team will continue to apply its Productivity Management and Resolve 2000(R) methodologies and leverage VIASOFT's tools throughout the implementation process. In addition, Keane has established a program management office to provide leadership, coordinate activities for the year 2000 effort, monitor the process and communicate the status of the efforts throughout the bank. "First Citizens Bank is committed to successfully meeting the challenges of the next millennium. With Keane's help, we will successfully address the year 2000 opportunity," said Joe Cooper, Chief Information Officer/Group Vice President for First Citizens.
