This thread has been created for those who wish to intelligently discuss the year 2000 problem and the various players involved.

Another thread on Viasoft is largerly devoted to those interested in playing the market and particularly on shorting volatile stocks dealing with the Y2K problem. Because of the monumental nature of this problem and it's repercussions, I would like to refer all interested parties to the website of Viasoft
viasoft.com
for a thorough explanation of the problem and what is being done to solve it. Viasoft is the most prominent company in this area and has forged strong partnerships with other players. As recently as today Viasoft has announced the formation of "c.era" in attempt to unify the effort of all companies cooperatively involved in solving this problem.
