Thanks for the warm welcome, Nemer -- I do appreciate it. My sincere thanks to all those who have posted to me both in public and private at various times since I decided to adopt a lower profile on SI. I have been touched by the concern that various people have shown in just wanting to keep in touch and inquiries that they have made to make sure that I was well.

As some of you know, I still kept a tab on the goings on at SI and particularly this thread. As we near the 35,000th post mark, I recall Pat and I trying to activate a discussion on futures trading on what was a dormant thread. At that time Pat and I felt almost obliged to keep some level of discussion going so that the thread did not fall into disuse!! How things have changed -- the activity level on the thread nowadays has little bearing on Pat's availability and clearly has no bearing on my availability!!

I have been fine both in terms of trading and in other aspects. I took an extended vacation during summer -- and am now looking forward to this contest -- David has certainly attracted a wide range of talent to this contest.

Given the circumstances of my absence from SI over the past several months, I feel a need to offer a few words of explanation regarding the trades that I will make in the contest -- just so that there is no misunderstanding.

Any position trades that I post are based on a new system that I developed recently that shows promising results based on simulations and some paper trading that I have done. However, I would like to make it clear that I am NOT trading the system at this time pending further validation. I am using this contest as part of the validation process.

With regard to day trading this is also based on a system that I developed that I am actually trading at this time -- though it is way too early to say whether it will be profitable in the long run. The system is mechanical with regard to entry -- but the exit relies on some level of judgement.

I would caution anyone who follows the trades that I post as part of this contest to keep the above in mind.
