I AM old enough to remember, and my recollection is that his selection, at the time applauded by Nixon, met with general approval.

And of course then Nixon booted them all out in the Saturday Night Massacre: Cox, Richardson, and Clarke.

I was old enough. I've read the WSJ since I was eight. What I actually wrote was:

I remember reading about it at the time of his selection - there was great distress at his selection. The administration was aghast that such a partisan Kennedy Dem would be selected to investigate him.

Read it in that context and the context of my precedent post to her, Janet. Sounds like you may be just too old.

But I'm probably getting a little ahead of you here..
