Last night while my husband and I were watching Mystery, we heard a loud crashing noise outside, and looked out the front window, and someone had run into his Saab that was parked on the street in front of the house.

We were both lounging around barefooted, so we had to find shoes and put them on in a hurry, and went out to see what happened. The driver of the car that ran into us did not leave, and he got out - he was just a kid and very shook up.

He said he had skidded on the ice and lost control of the vehicle and the whole thing just happened in slow motion.

I didn't think the police would come for an accident without an injury, but called them anyway. They said just to exchange information, and it turns out he goes to the same high schoool as my kids, he is one grade ahead of my older son and in his math class. His parents have GEICO, same as us. We let him call his parents so he could tell them what happened, and then when he got home his father called and talked to my husband.

Unfortunately, the Saab may well be totaled. It seems to have a bent frame and a bent rear axle, and definitely the muffler is bent at a 90 degree angle. It's a 1988 car so we won't get much for it if it is totalled.

If not, the body shop we used when my husband ran into a deer is so busy that they can't look at the car before March 15! At least he will have the use of a rental car until it's fixed.
