How can Tseng compete, for that matter how can any of the specialty
chip companies compete as Intel and the other biggies put more and more
functionality on their processors? I don't even see Soundblaster cards
being around in a few years. The Wintel alliance will just scoop up one
item at a time, til finally the ultimate DSP/CPU/Video Accellerator is all
piled up on the next generation of the Pentium Pro. I used to own Tseng,
great company cash-wise, they even used to dish out a nickle div., but
it seemed that they were always half a step behind the times. Also, the
dollar doesn't buy an awful lot of yen anymore (I believe production is in
Japan, now that's gotta hurt). If these fabs were someplace cheap, I
could be a little less pessimistic. end
