Good points, esp. wrt dividends. GER pays an annual dividend but the stocks in the WEB of course pay dividends whenever. Sounds like you'd have to cover those dividends as they occur...? And the dividends are rather big percentage wise too. Ah, just a thought.

Anyway, I wonder if it is a good time to buy GER now. The Fortune article I mentioned stated there was recent cap gain tax reform in Germany. Previously, German gov't taxed unrealized cap gains as income (!), sort of like IRS taxing interest on a zero coupon bond (ie, in both cases, no $$ received yet). No wonder German co's have such big dividends--probably figure they'll give the shareholders the cash now instead of a tax bill. Now AFAIK taxes will be incurred upon cashing out only as in USA.
