I have to disagree. Acad is the best? Give me a break! Have you ever actually used anything else? This is a common refrain of folks who have only used Acad. Over the years I've used Computervision, Acad, Personal Designer, HP Solid Designer/Me10, and lastly Solidworks. Hands down Autocad is THE worst. For one, I've always hated their 1970s era dimensioning functionality as LAME, LAME, LAME. Admittedly, I'm not talking about "Designer", but what I've seen of that looked like the same old ADSK crap. Don't thay understand that designers don't model one part at a time? At the exact same price point, Solidworks puts Acad to shame. If ADSK had played their cards with their brains connected they would be the Microsoft of the CAD world. They never understood the mechanical world. I see organizations all around here abandoning Acad for comprehensive solids based assembly design tools. -Bruce
